Do try out the prominent foods of Mumbai at the stalls on Juhu Beach like Pav Bhaji, Bhel Puri, etc. There are some sophisticated restaurants outside the beach like Shiv Sagar known for the Mumbai fast foods, Little Italy and Penne, by names, are known for delicious Italian food, etc. A famous stall about 2 to 3 km away from Juhu Beach, called NM right opposite the Mithibai College, serves 59 types of Dosas ( a pancake made from rice flour and ground pulses served with vegetable filling. ), vada pav and sandwiches. It is a must try. I myself make it a point to go their once a month. Don't worry, it is completely hygienic.

Things to do on the Beach...

Exercising along the coastline of this beach, early morning is a life time's experience. If you are with family, building castles and wetting your legs in the water is a must do. Beach volleyball, cricket and football is a fun pass time during the vacations. Don't forget to try out the tempting eating joints right outside Juhu Beach.

Juhu Beach

The second most famous beach in Mumbai is located on the Bandra-Khar road. It is located 20 Km away from the city centre. It is a major attraction for all the tourists in India and it is a major site for film shootings too.  Don't be surprised if you suddenly find celebrities jogging next to you, it is completely normal.

Safety

You can carry a mat along with you to sit on the sand. Don't let the kids go into the water after 8:00 pm. Do carry any necessary medications along with you at all times. Take care of the beggars on the beach and streets. Avoid going in Monsoon as there is mostly a high tide. Do remember to carry a bottle of water and sun screen lotion with you especially during summers as it can get really hot and humid.
